Mari Motohashi (本橋 麻里 Motohashi Mari ) is a Japanese curler, born June 10, 1986 in Tokoro District, Abashiri Subprefecture, Hokkaidō.
Motohashi was a member of Team Aomori which was selected to represent Japan at the 2006 Winter Olympics [1]. At the 2006 Games she threw Second under skip Ayumi Onodera. She also competed with Team Aomori at the 2010 Winter Olympics under skip Moe Meguro. She is currently the Skip and Captain of LocoSolare, the team she formed with members from her hometown, Tokoro District.
Mari Motohashi was the alternate of the Japanese Team who won the 2003 and 2004 Pacific Curling Championships. She entered the Pacific Curling Championships several times again for Japan with Team Aomori winning the silver medal in 2007 and 2009 and the bronze in 2008.
She also represented her country in the World Women's Curling Championship of 2005 (finishing 9th), 2007 (8th), 2008 (4th) and 2010 (11t). [2] and the World Junior Women's Curling Championship 2002 [3].
She graduated from Aomori Akenohoshi Junior College, studies at Nippon Sport Science University, and is sponsored by NTT Learning Systems.
Her nickname is 'Marilyn' named after her first name.
